Five Things Friday

5 things to be happy about right now…

  1. A completely full December calendar of fun holiday events with friends and more. Let me run you through my December calendar :) Jane Hotel, Bar Method, favorite  yoga teacher Ally in  NY, Jingle Bell Arthritis Run!, full evening of holiday festival hopping (Bryant Park, Madison Sq Park and Union Square), Mary’s Fish Camp, company Holiday Dinner and karaoke, ‘Third Thursday’ dinner, Santa Con!, inversion yoga workshop, The Dutch, Radio City Christmas Spectacular!!, The National at Beacon, holiday party, secret santa, L’Artusi, west coast Christmas!!
  2. Mile a day challenge. Challenges are fun. I’ll tell you right now I will 100% not run a mile on December 9th. Our company holiday fiesta gets a littttle crazy. One word: karaoke.
  3. Joe’s Coffee frequent customer card and the 11th free drink. I always get americanos which are $2.75 and you can make it into a makeshift latte asking for extra room and dumping milk in. BUT on my 11th free drink I go BIG and get the $5 latte.
  4. My kitchenette. I’ve made brownies and stew and that makes me happy.
  5. Sparkles. The holidays are full of sparkles. I want a sparkly little cardigan to spice up my holiday outfits.

In other news, I’m tired. I know I’m getting older because all I want to do is sleep and after two beers I feel hungover. What the heck!! Maybe it’s because I went to bed at 1am. oops. Tonight I’m going to make brownies and put the rest of my salted caramel sauce to use. Luckily I have friends coming over so I don’t eat the whole batch. Going to spin this evening with Michelle pre brownies. I’m very excited to go back to Bar Method tomorrow! Like I said, I bought my friend a gift card for a class there and we are going together manana. Then I’m going to a yoga workshop at Strala with my all time favorite yoga instructor from Santa Monica. She’s amazing. I miss her classes terrible. I miss two things from LA (besides friends) Peet’s Coffee and Ally Hamilton’s yoga class.  good thing she streams! http://yogisanonymous.com/

Sunday Team Just Because She Can is running the Arthritis Jingle Bell Run! We raised about $800. Not that much but it’s something.

NY is pretty . Enjoy the weekend!

As mentioned yesterday, last night night I in fact did  go to spin class, run a mile and eat stew. I’m so so happy my shins have stopped hurting (knock on wood). Shin splints or whatever the heck I was experiencing for a few months hurts so freakiiiinnngggg badly. So thank you body for not hurting. Maybe it’s because I didn’t run for a really long time. Maybe it’s because I slowed my pace down in Argentina. I’m not sure why but I’m embracing the pain free runs. Spin was awesome. This teacher Michael draws your road map on the mirror and plays music videos. It’s quite entertaining. I went to the Soho Equinox last night and walking through Soho makes me so happy for some reason. (note this was a Wednesday evening and not a tourist filled Saturday afternoon). Soho just feels SO New York. I love the vibe, young feeling, architecture, beautiful stores. Love it all. I think it reminds me of my childhood because I would do two things as a child: 1) Stare at Carson Daly in Times Square during TRL and 2) Shop with my mom in Soho. One day I still would like to live in Nolita or a quiet part of Soho. I added an egg, cheese and crackers (real healthy…) to my stew and it was delish.

workout happy! and sweaty

When I bought this shirt I told my mom and sis “this shirt will be my post yoga/workout shirt for when I’m cold” and they thought I was kind of crazy and it has be used for that exact purpose 3 times :)

cheese makes everything better

Love Hulu. Watched Parenthood. LOVE Parenthood.

Today I got up bright and early at 6am, hopped over to Greenwich Equinox (which is like 60 seconds away from my apt. amazing) and ran my mile (tooo earllyyyyy) and did Pure Muscle. I am not made of pure muscle whatsoever. I always think I’m strength training with yoga and my … 2o pushups I do but sadly I don’t think I am and I think I need to do some more weight stuff. I miss Bar Method! I actually think I’m taking a Bar Method class this Saturday because I bought a gift card for my friend’s birthday and she wants to put it to use! Yes back to the cultish life of Bar Method.

Working out in the morning is great because you have the ENTIRE night to do whatever you please. Which usually includes eating and/or drinking. Tonight I’m heading to a “Girlfriend’s guide on how to make it on Wall Street” With work reviews coming up and all I figure it’s a good event to maybe spark an idea on how I can make it on Wall Street or something like that…

I’m excited for the weekend! Lots of friend filled fun. And my favorite yoga teacher from LA, Ally Hamilton, is doing a workshop at Strala which I am obviously attending in full force.

ciao!
